Unit Details:
31st Infantry Regiment [including Morrison's 6th Louisiana Infantry Battalion] was organized at Vicksburg, Mississippi, during the early summer of 1862. Assigned to General Baldwin's Brigade, Department of Mississippi and East Louisiana, the unit lost 9 killed and 16 wounded at Chickasaw Bluff and was captured defending Vicksburg. After being exchanged, it was placed in A. Thomas' Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department, and fought in various conflicts in Louisiana. During the spring of 1865 it disbanded. The field officers were Colonel Charles H. Morrison, Lieutenant Colonel Sidney H.. Griffin, and Majors James W. Draughon and Thomas C. Humble.- This family tree contains 1 known Confederate soldier.
